Each driver is responsible for weighing their car at the start of the day, with an empty tank, before starting any race.
The complete car with body shell must not weigh less than 10kg, otherwise it will be disqualified.
The top 3 finishers at the end of each round will be called for a weight inspection.
The Light Category will have no limitation of drivers by technical level; everyone may race.
Every year, drivers who wish to enter or remain in the Light category will be evaluated by the organizing committee based on the technical criteria below, in order to classify them into 2 Groups for the purpose of LEVELING:
-
Beginners
-
Experts.
The criteria will be:
-
Experience in 1/5 competitions and other categories;
-
Technical knowledge;
-
Driving level
-
Previous year competition results.
In order to avoid discouragement and to allow everyone to continue enjoying the benefits of competition, as well as to gradually improve technical knowledge and familiarity with our 1/5 category environment, the following rules will be adopted for 2025:
EXPERT DRIVERS: Expert drivers who wish to participate in Light must obligatorily use a body/car whose minimum weight is 12kg and will have 3 laps subtracted from their total at the end of the races.
Ballast weights must be installed only on the chassis in such a way that they cannot come loose during the race. If they do, and the driver finishes in the top 3, they will be disqualified after inspection.
Beginner drivers do not need to undergo inspection. In the Light category for beginners there is no limitation on on-road chassis, engine, gearing or drivetrain.
The category is open and will also accept Truck-type bodies. Experienced and advanced drivers who wish to enter with a truck will follow the same leveling rules defined above.
-

Technical Regulations for the PRO Category (Light Category open)
12.1. Only engines up to 23cc, two (2) stroke, up to four (4) ports, no nitro and no turbo are allowed;
12.1.2. An air filter must be installed at the carburetor intake. The carburetor air intake (venturi) may have a maximum diameter of 13mm.
12.2. Single-speed transmission only;
12.3. All types of pipes are allowed (observe noise limits), but only pipes with a “muffler” (silencer) will be accepted; 12.4. All cars must have at least one (1) operational braking system capable of stopping the car and a clutch system capable of keeping the car stationary with the engine running without applying the brake.
12.5. Touring-type body (Sedan, Coupe), in two (2) and four (4) door versions;
12.5.1. “Prototype” bodies are not allowed.
12.5.2. The body must be made of flexible material and must be properly painted. Windows must be transparent, semi-transparent or painted in contrasting colors to those of the car;
12.5.3. All 4 windows may be opened if the body is 4-door. If the body is 2-door, only the windows corresponding to each door may be opened, i.e., only the two front windows, respecting the window size, except the front windshield which may only have a (minimal) opening for the receiver antenna if necessary; the rear windshield may also be opened.
12.5.4. No aerodynamic modifications or adjustments of any kind are allowed inside the body (i.e., aerodynamic performance kits).
12.5.5. Rear Wing:
12.5.5.1. Height: may not exceed the roofline and may be a maximum of 60mm in height relative to the trunk lid.
12.5.5.2. Width: may not exceed the sides of the body shell; it may not go beyond the rear body line when viewed from above.
12.5.5.3. Must be a single plane only (may not have 02 or more wings).
12.5.5.4. The front bumper must follow the contour of the car body and must be built to minimize damage resulting from crashes, and must be made of foam rubber or a flexible plastic material;
12.6. No part of the car may extend beyond the body shell when viewed from above;
12.6.1. Exception: rear tires, due to toe, may show at the rear;
12.7. The receiver antenna must be flexible. Carbon, GRP, steel, etc. are not allowed;
12.8. Minimum car weight (without fuel) must be 10 kg; maximum 12kg.
12.9. The use of electronic gyroscopes is not allowed.
12.10. The fuel tank must have a maximum capacity of 700ml.
12.11. During the championship, only one (1) engine and one (1) chassis per driver will be allowed. They will be sealed when inspection is carried out and may be checked at any time at the request of the race direction or inspectors.
Breaking any of the seals may result in the driver’s immediate elimination from the championship; however, for the smooth running of the races and the enjoyment of participants—especially those who already have 2 cars entered in Pro and Light—this will be at the discretion of the Race Director and Organizing Committee to approve or not the use of a second chassis.
If it is necessary to clean the engine cooling system or perform recoil maintenance that requires breaking the seal, it must be done with prior authorization from the race inspector, and the seal will be replaced after maintenance. Replacing the cylinder sleeve or internal engine parts is not permitted.
In case of engine breakage (and breakage only), the engine may be replaced by another one, which will be sealed again, and the driver will start from the last grid position in the semi-final or final.
Lack of power or compression is not a reason to change the engine.
The broken engine will be retained by technical inspection.
12.12. Note: The race direction may choose not to carry out technical inspections; however, if it chooses to do so, inspections may be performed at any time during the competition.

Fueling Procedure for the Final
The driver must bring the car for fueling with the tank completely empty.
The graduated cylinder will be filled by the director/inspector with 700ml of the fuel provided by the driver.
The filling of the graduated cylinder will be carried out in a place and in a way that allows all drivers to follow the procedure. Fueling of the RC car will be done by the driver or their mechanic, or both, immediately after the graduated cylinder is released with the fuel, and in a manner that allows the director/inspector to monitor the procedure.
Fueling order will be the descending order of the starting grid.
After fueling for the final, the cars must remain in the shade in a place predetermined by the director/inspector and may not undergo any procedure that increases the amount of fuel in the car. If there is suspicion of alteration, the director/inspector will analyze and decide whether the procedure, in fact, compromised the legitimacy of the fueling.
If so, the applicable penalty is the immediate elimination of the driver from the championship.
-
Starting Procedure
For all finals and sub-finals, warm-up will begin 3 (three) minutes before the start time. At 22 (twenty-two) seconds to the start, cars will be called to the starting line,
Drivers will drive their cars along the race line to their respective starting positions and remain stopped waiting for the alignment of the other drivers.
The time-out request will only be allowed up to the moment the Race Director calls to line up the grid for the start.
The time granted to the driver who requested it will be 10 minutes, with the track open for testing only for the driver who requested the time.
There will be no further possibility of requesting time after the director’s call to line up the starting grid.
After everyone is aligned, the Race Director will announce the formation lap.
Drivers will complete one full lap, driving their cars along the race line to their respective starting positions and remain stopped waiting for the alignment of the other drivers. In the formation lap, the pace is determined by the first-place car.
No contact will be allowed; penalties applied during the formation lap will be the same penalties as in the race.
If a driver is delayed on the formation lap and falls behind while all others are lining up, the delayed driver will start from the last empty position on the starting grid. 3 seconds after all cars are correctly aligned on the grid, a 10-second countdown to the start will begin, announced by the director second by second up to 4 seconds; from that point onward, the start may be given by an audible signal at any moment.
A car that, for any reason, cannot leave the pits up to 30 seconds before the start must line up in the last empty position on the grid for the start.
The Race Director and assistant directors will monitor the pit area to prevent any unfair advantage.
If the grid is not in accordance with what was stated by the director, the driver who caused the delay by stopping out of position will be penalized with a drive-through penalty.
-
Penalties
During the event, the penalties used will be: Warning, Drive-Thru, Stop and Go (10s),
Disqualification and elimination. All penalties may be given by the director
It is at the discretion of the race direction both the application and the type of penalty that must be applied.
15.1- Warning – Will be applied to a driver who behaves poorly but does not put another driver’s performance or the progress of the race at risk. A second warning for the same driver will automatically be a drive-through.
15.2- Drive-Thru – Will be applied to a driver who behaves poorly trying to gain advantages, disrupting the smooth running of the race, behavior that puts at risk the physical integrity of mechanics and marshals, and improper conduct by the mechanic. A second drive-through for the same driver will automatically be a stop and go.
15.3 – Stop and GO – Will be ten (10) seconds stopped in the pits. Any behavior that harms performance or the smooth running of the race, the opponent’s performance (intentional collisions), track cutting, unsportsmanlike attitudes both on track and on the drivers’ stand, profanity throughout the event with the intention to offend an opponent, insults directed at marshals, a driver who does not yield when being lapped by an opponent may result in a stop and go.
Yielding when being lapped during races is MANDATORY.
Drivers must yield during qualifying sessions to faster drivers; yielding is mandatory when requested by the director.
To serve the stop and go, the Race Director must be informed; they will time it and give the order for the driver to leave the pits.
Throughout the GP, a driver may be penalized with Stop and Go only 4 times; the 5th (fifth) Stop and Go will result in the driver’s immediate elimination from the competition.
15.4- Disqualification – A driver will be disqualified from the race in which they are competing if they do not use sealed tires in valid races, are not in compliance with the technical regulations, or act in an unsportsmanlike manner toward an opponent, with the judgment at the discretion of the race direction.
15.5 – Disqualification from Event – A driver will be disqualified from the event if they accumulate 5 (five) Stop and Go penalties during the event; if they do not use the previously sealed chassis in valid races; if they break the chassis seal; if they do not use the previously sealed engine in valid races; if they break the engine cover/recoil seal, even for cleaning, without prior notice to inspection. A driver will be disqualified if they attempt against the physical integrity of any driver or any member of the Championship organization.
